Support Lamplight Partner, Caring Heart Thrift Store
#GivingTuesday, December 1st
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Saturday, November 28th, 2020
Marshall County, Alabama - On #GivingTuesday, we are asking for your support in helping Lamplight’s new partner, Caring Heart Thrift Store, pay for start up costs.
Lamplight and its umbrella organization, the Sand Mountain Cooperative Education Center, are proud to announce a partnership with the brand new Caring Heart Thrift Store in Arab, Alabama. Caring Heart, founded by Felicia Jones, the parent of a 2019 Lamplight camper, will have Lamplight as a fiscal sponsor during its start up phase.
Over the coming months and years, Lamplight staff and campers will be volunteering our time to help the operation of Caring Heart get off the ground. Caring Heart has pledged to donate its profits to three local nonprofits, including Lamplight. These funds will help us continue to offer Lamplight’s services to Marshall County for free in the long term. We look forward to working with Caring Heart as partners for the benefit of Marshall County. Not only will Caring Heart provide affordable clothing to those in need, we hope it will serve as a sustainable base for the financial independence of nonprofit cooperative initiatives in Marshall County beyond Lamplight.
All money donated to Lamplight this Giving Tuesday will go directly towards paying off Caring Heart’s start up wish list. We expect Caring Heart to officially open in early 2021. You can follow its Facebook page for updates here.
